Five media personalities will be enshrined in the NEW YORK BROADCASTER's HALL OF FAME, and radio is represented by CURTIS SLIWA and FUNK MASTERFLEX. Longtime UNIVISION O&O WXTV (UNIVISION 41)/NEW YORK anchor and former WJIT-A/NEW YORK host RAFAEL PINEDA, ABC affiliate WKBW-TV/BUFFALO President/GM and GRANITE BROADCASTiNG CORP. SVP Northeast BILL RANSOM, and NEXTSTAR Chairman, President, and CEO PERRY SOOK are also being inducted at the NOVEMBER 7th ceremony.
SLIWA hosts shows in both weekday morning and afternoon drives on SALEM Talk WNYM-A (AM 970 THE ANSWER/NEW YORK. The veteran talker and GUARDIAN ANGELS founder began his radio life at WABC-A/NEW YORK in 1990. A second stint followed in 1996, leading to his eight-year on-air partnership with attorney RON KUBY.
FUNKMASTER FLEX has hosted on EMMIS Top 40/Rhythmic WQHT (HOT 97)/NEW YORK for more than 20 years. He has also hosted shows on MTV and released several mix albums, and is known for his on-air live mixing.
