BLACK RIVER’s KELLIE PICKLER was presented with the “Heart For the Warrior Award” by the USO of NORTH CAROLINA during its “NINTH ANNUAL SALUTE TO FREEDOM GALA” on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 19^th in RALEIGH. The award is presented to those who, through selfless service and contributions, lift the spirits of the troops and their families.

An ALBEMARLE, NC native, PICKLER participated in her first USO tour in 2007. Since then, she has performed for more than 30,000 troops stationed in eight different countries.

SATURDAY’s (10/19) event raised $81,550 via a live auction, for which PICKLER donated a signed guitar that fetched $4,900.
