FCC Hits Two Stations With $8,000 Fines For Public File Violations

The FCC has fined HK MEDIA, INC. $8,000 for public file violations at Korean KFOX-A/TORRANCE-LOS ANGELES. After an inspection failed to turn up a public file, the station President said that the the public file had been destroyed by water damage at the studio.
The Commission also fined HISPANIC TARGET MEDIA, INC. $8,000 for public file violations at KUKY/WELLTON, AZ. At in inspection, the station GM did not understand the agents' request to see the public file and said he did not know one was required; the station later said that the manager was not fluent in English and therefore didn't understand the question, and that the station maintains its public file at the local library.
CENTRO COLEGIAL CRISTIANO, INC. was fined $6,400 for EAS violations at Jazz WVID/ANASCO, PR.
Also, the FCC fined J.M.J. RADIO, INC. $1,500 for main studio violations at Religion WQOR-A/OLYPHANT, PA.
And HOOSIER PUBLIC RADIO CORPORATION has been fined $8,000 for operating noncommercial WRFM-F/WILKINSON, IN from an unauthorized location.
