BIG MACHINE’s TAYLOR SWIFT will be honored with the COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION (CMA) PINNACLE AWARD during WEDNESDAY NIGHT’s (11/6) “47th ANNUAL CMA AWARDS.”
The PINNACLE Award recognizes an artist who has achieved both national and international prominence through concert performances and record sales at levels unique in Country Music and who has also attained the highest degree of recognition within the broad expanse of music worldwide.
“I can’t think of a better opportunity than ‘Country Music’s Biggest Night’ to present an award of this magnitude to an artist of this caliber,” said CMA Pres. ED HARDY. “I’ve known TAYLOR since she was 16. She came to my office with her Mom to play her music and I was amazed. TAYLOR’s outstanding career epitomizes the definition of the PINNACLE AWARD.”
The award was created in 2005 when it was presented to GARTH BROOKS, its only other recipient to date.
SWIFT is also nominated for six CMA Awards, including Entertainer of the Year.
SWIFT was actually a winner this week already, as of SUNDAY night (11/3), when she was honored at the first-ever YOU TUBE MUSIC AWARDS, taking home the Phenomenon Award for “I Knew You Were Trouble.”
