CUMULUS MEDIA has announced a series of programming executive appointments, naming RANDALL BLOOMQUIST as Corporate PD for News/Talk, DEREK MADDEN and SCOTT JAMESON promoted to Corporate PDs for Rock in addition to their local programming responsibilities (MADDEN in LOS ANGELES, JAMESON in MINNEAPOLIS) and JIM MAHANAY as Corporate PD for Sports.
“Our success depends on executing effectively across programming at the local and national levels, which is why I’m very pleased about these new appointments that will help CUMULUS continue building on our commitment to the very best content,” said EVP/Co-COO JOHN DICKEY.
BLOOMQUIST is a veteran Talk radio programmer, who mostly recently operated BLOOMQUIST MEDIA, a marketing communications and content creation firm. Prior to starting his own business, BLOOMQUIST served as PD of News/Talk WGST/ATLANTA.
"I'm thrilled to join CUMULUS at this exciting time in the history of radio and audio content,” BLOOMQUIST said. “CUMULUS is a true audio platform company well-positioned to help shape the future of our industry. I look forward to working with JOHN DICKEY, MIKE MCVAY and the rest of the CUMULUS News/Talk team to create great radio that resonates with listeners and delivers for clients."
MADDEN is currently the OM/PD/midday host at KLOS/LOS ANGELES. Prior to joining CUMULUS/L.A., he spent more than a decade in SAN FRANCISCO, where he served as PD at KSAN and KSJO/SAN JOSE.
“There’s so much great programming talent joining CUMULUS, and I’m stoked to get a chance to work with sharp programmers like TROY HANSON, SCOTT JAMESON and AARON ROBERTS,” MADDEN said. “I’m pumped to explore new ways to help get the most out of this great stable of stations. Thanks to JOHN DICKEY and MIKE MCVAY for the opportunity. And a special thanks to VAL GARRIS for all the support and mentoring all these years.”
JAMESON is a 25-year programming veteran specializing in Classic Rock, currently serving as OM/PD for KQRS, KXXR and WGVX/WGVY/WGVZ (SPORTS RADIO 105 THE TICKET)/MINNEAPOLIS. Before joining CUMULUS, JAMESON held the position of VP/Programming for CBS RADIO's Adult Rock stations and Exec. Producer for the ATLANTA FALCONS RADIO NETWORK.
"I am looking forward to sharing ideas and strategies with our team of bright programmers. Thanks to all the folks in ATLANTA at the CUMULUS headquarters for the opportunity,” JAMESON said.
