RAC Elects Joel Oxley Chairman, Kim Guthrie Vice Chair

At its most recent meeting, the RADIO ADVISORY COUNCIL elected HUBBARD RADIO/WASHINGTON Market Manager JOEL OXLEY as its new Chairman and COX MEDIA GROUP VP KIM GUTHRIE Vice Chairman. SOUTH CENTRAL MEDIA Pres. CRAIG JACOBUS will remain as Past Chairman for the next year.

New rules prohibit anyone from the RAC discussing the particulars of the meeting, but JACOBUS told ALL ACCESS that he was "pleasantly surprised at how far down the road" NIELSEN was in dealing with RAC concerns, especially when it comes to PPM sample size, which NIELSEN announced before the RAC meeting (NET NEWS, X/XX). "They've made considerable progress with multi-platform measurement, he said. "They've done a lot of research that had made some significant headway on our most pressing issues, which made it such a positive meeting."

In terms of future RAC meetings, JACOBUS said that they haven't determined when they will be held just yet. "Usually there's one in the spring and one in the fall," he said.  "But they don't  normally set dates until they can corral everyone together to fit their schedules."
