Rickey Smiley Bails Out Arrested 80-Year-Old Woman

Syndicated air personality RICKEY SMILEY posted the bond for an 80-year-old woman in Fort HOOD, TX involved in an altercation with a deadly weapon after learning that she may die in jail before she attempts to defend herself.

On NOV. 10th, TEMPIE STRICKLAND allegedly tried to kill her ex-husband/roommate during a fight over his staying out too late/ She was arrested and initially charged with attempted murder, with bail set for $100,000.

SMILEY got wind of the story after it was sent to him via social media. When he read an interview of her, where she worried that her last days alive would be devoid of freedom, “It broke my heart,” SMILEY said, adding that everyone deserves due process.

“I’m not defending the crime of pulling guns out on people,” Smiley stated; he just didn’t want her to die in jail before she was able to be judged by her peers. “When it comes to seniors, I’m really sensitive."

After the bond money was posted, STRICKLAND was released from custody. Her charges have since been reduced to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. SMILEY plans to  support her in court to make sure that she’ll have a “happy and peaceful” life.
