Nielsen Staff Reductions Underway In Columbia, MD

ALL ACCESS has confirmed that a reduction in force is underway at NEILSEN's COLUMBIA, MD campus, primarily affecting employees that were inherited in the ARBITRON acquisition.  An earlier wave of staff changes were announced last month, (NET NEWS 10/1).

E-mails were sent out inviting affected employees to HR meeting rooms to learn the specifics of their futures with the company.

Later today, a meeting is set to explain the structure of the company to those still employed.

While NIELSEN would not comment on specific personnel changes, they did issue this statement: "As part of the integration of NIELSEN AUDIO, NIELSEN is implementing changes across the company to enhance growth and to align our resources to meet and exceed client needs. These changes will improve productivity and innovation for the benefit of our organization, clients and shareholders."
