CHARLOTTE KNIGHTS minor league baseball is moving to HRN BROADCASTING, INC. Sports WZGV-A (ESPN 730)/CHARLOTTE under a new two-year deal. MATT SWIERAD will return for his 17th season calling the KNIGHTS games. The KNIGHTS, who move from suburban SOUTH CAROLINA back to the city with a new ballpark opening in the UPTOWN district in APRIL, aired on OUR THREE SONS BROADCASTING Talk WRHI-A-W232AX/ROCK HILL, NC for the past three seasons.
KNIGHTS EVP/COO DAN RAJKOWSKI said "This is a great opportunity for us to partner with LANNY FORD and the great people at HRN BROADCASTING, INC. ESPN is a well-known name in the radio business and we are very pleased to have our brand linked with such a great outlet for sports."
HRN GM LANNY FORD said, "We are very excited to begin this partnership with the CHARLOTTE KNIGHTS. The move to UPTOWN is something people have talked about since they left UPTOWN. We are humbled to be selected as their flagship station and hope to continue for many years. To add the KNIGHTS along with the (minor league hockey) CHECKERS and the (UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA AT CHARLOTTE) CHARLOTTE 49ERS continues to show our desire to be the local connection for CHARLOTTE sports."
