The CRTC has approved changes for two MONTREAL-area stations owned by COGECO DIFFUSION ACQUISITIONS INC. The agency approved a boost of French Talk CHMP (98,5 FM)/LONGUEUIL-MONTREAL from 40,800 watts at 301.5 meters to 100,000 watts at 298.9 meters from its present site atop MONT ROYAL.
Similarly, Rhythmic AC CKBE (92.5 THE BEAT)/MONTREAL will get a boost from 44,100 watts at 297.4 meters to 100,000 watts at 298.9 meters. Both moves are being enabled by the lifting of the Department of Industry's moratorium on power increases at the site in the heart of MONTREAL.
The CRTC also approved a power increase for the CBC's RADIO ONE outlet CFYK-F/YELLOWKNIFE, NORTHWEST TERRITORIES from 1,200 watts to 5,500 watts.
