Springfield, MA Host Dan Williams Battles Cancer

Get well wishes go out to SAGA Classic Rock WAQY (ROCK 102) host DAN WILLIAMS, who the SPRINGFIELD REPUBLICAN reports has disclosed that he is battling bladder cancer.

WILLIAMS, known in the market for many years at crosstown WHYN-A and, with wife KIM ZACHARY (now at BUCKLEY Oldies WDRC-F/HARTFORD), in mornings at WHYN-F (MIX 93.1) and ABC affiliate WGGB-TV, wrote on the couple's website that after many years raising money for the JIMMY FUND and creating the KATELYNN'S RIDE bicycle ride for cancer fundraising, "cancer has come knocking on my door in the form of bladder cancer. Not a surprise, really, as I’ve expected this visit.  Cancer is asking me, 'You talk the talk but do you walk the walk?'"  WILLIAMS vowed to be "back on my bike for the 100 mile KATELYNN’S RIDE" on JUNE 1st of next year.
