Sirius Adds Over 359,000 Subs in Q3

SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO says it added over 359,000 new subscribers in third quarter, a 97% increase over the same quarter in 2004. 

With the additions giving SIRIUS over 2.17 million subscribers by the end of the quarter, CEO MEL KARMAZIN says that the company had "the best third quarter in our history, and increased our market share from the year-ago quarter by more than 20%. With the traditionally heavy holiday selling period coming up, we fully expect demand for our service to accelerate significantly through the remainder of the year."

The company says it remains on track to break the 3 million subscriber mark at the end of the year.
