Mediabase Lists Most Played Songs, Artists Of 2013

MEDIABASE has released its list of the most played songs, artists, and label shares of 2013 (NOVEMBER 18, 2012 through NOVEMBER 16, 2013).
The label group with most plays was INTERSCOPE/GEFFEN/A&M, with ROBIN THICKE featuring PHARRELL and T.I.'s "Blurred Lines" the most listened to song in the monitored airplay era with 260 million listeners in its peak week; other INTERSCOPE acts scoring big in MEDIABASE were IMAGINE DRAGONS, MAROON 5, PHILLIP PHILLIPS, and KENDRICK LAMAR (the top Urban artist in the MEDIABASE chart).
WMG’s WARNER BROS. RECORDS was led by #2 artist at Top 40 and Rhythmic MACKLEMORE & RYAN LEWIS, with four multi-format hits, “Thrift Shop,” “Can’t Hold Us,” “Same Love,” and “White Walls.” SONY MUSIC’s RCA RECORDS hit with JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, PINK, MIGUEL, KELLY CLARKSON, and THREE DAYS GRACE, while UMG's ISLAND DEF JAM MUSIC GROUP was led by RIHANNA (#1 at Rhythmic, #2 Urban, #6 Top 40) and WMG's ATLANTIC RECORDS topped Top 40 with BRUNO MARS (also #3 Hot AC, #5 AC). SONY's COLUMBIA RECORDS hit with THE NEIGHBOURHOOD and J. COLE.
The top Country song was REPUBLIC NASHVILLE's "Cruise" by FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE, which also topped the artist rankings for the format, and labelmates THE BAND PERRY landed at #2 with "Better Dig Two." But CAPITOL MUSIC was the top Country label in MEDIABASE, with LUKE BRYAN, LADY ANTEBELLUM, and DARIUS RUCKER leading the way.
