BEASLEY Hot AC WMGV (V103.3)/NEW BERN, NC changed its name on FRIDAY, but just for the morning and for a great cause: The station became "ALYSSA 103.3" to honor a little girl named ALYSSA who list her father to Hodgkin's Lymphoma less than three months ago and then was diagnosed with leukemia herself. The girl reacted by creating a CHRISTMAS gift list, with the twist that the list was comprised of local organizations and charities she wanted to GIVE to, in an initiative called "PROJECT LOVE" that aimed to raise $1,800 for the charities.
V103.3's MARC AND AMY morning show joined the project, going all-in with the temporary name change and bringing ALYSSA in to co-host, and raising a lot more than $1,800 for the CRYSTAL COAST HOSPICE HOUSE (where her father spent his final days), SNUG HARBOR ON NELSON BAY, and an animal shelter. The show featured appropriate new imaging to mark the occasion as well.
PD COLLEEN JACKSON and VP of Programming JUSTIN CHASE note that the station is continuing to help ALYSSA exceed her goals (she's well past doubling the amount and counting); hear ALYSSA tell her story and donate to the initiative by clicking here.
