WLPO Flips N/T For Classic Hits

LA SALLE COUNTY BROADCASTING News/Talk WLPO-A/F/LA SALLE, IL has flipped to Classic Hits, the ILLINOIS VALLEY NEWS TRIBUNE  reports. The morning show of ROD THORSON and JEREMY AITKEN stays on; the music begins after their shift ends at 10a.

"WLPO spent the last decade providing news and talk around the clock," LA SALLE COUNTY BROADCASTING VP/Operations JOHN SPENCER told the paper. "The last four-and-a-half years we followed the lead of some of the most successful News-Talk radio stations in the country by airing top-rated syndicated hosts during the day. With the addition of an FM translator (103.9) this summer, we feel we have an opportunity to go a different direction to increase the size of our audience. We’re hoping more people will wake up with ROD and then stick around for the greatest hits of all time.”
