Ex-roadie-turned-filmmaker JOEL MILLER recently locked his first feature film, “The Still Life,” which explores the sacrifices artists are forced to make to pursue their art. The film, which was both written and directed by MILLER, is currently in post-production and going through the submission process at SUNDANCE. NETFLIX has already listed "The Still Life" on their site and plan to offer the DVD when it is released, and the film is expected to play a limited run in select theaters.
Wait, what are we talking about a film for on a music industry website? Well, our more astute readers recognized from the intro above that MILLER is a former roadie (having toured with the likes of GUNS N ROSES, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, THE CRANBERRIES, and RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS), but what we haven’t told you yet is that the film will feature both acting performances and music by a number of musicians, including JOSH TODD (BUCKCHERRY), JONATHAN DAVIS (KoRn), LOUISE POST (VERUCA SALT), KIM SHATTUCK (THE MUFFS), DIZZY REED (GUNS N ROSES), EDDIE HEDGES (BLESSID UNION OF SOULS), ANGELO MOORE (FISHBONE), and DELANEY BRAMLETT (DELANEY, BONNIE, AND FRIENDS).
