Contract Filed For KDB-USC-SMC Deal

The paperwork for the three-way deal that will put THE SANTA BARBARA FOUNDATION (PACIFIC BROADCASTING)Classical KDB/SANTA MONICA in the hands of the UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA as a simulcast of Classical KUSC/LOS ANGELES and USC's noncommercial Classical KQSC in the hands of SANTA MONICA COLLEGE DISTRICT as a simulcast of its Triple A-News KCRW/SANTA MONICA-LOS ANGELES (NET NEWS 2/18), and the contract confirms that SANTA MONICA COLLEGE is paying SANTA BARBARA FOUNDATION $1.3 million ($1 million cash, $300,000 in a promissory note) to make the deal happen, with USC getting the KDB signal and SANTA MONICA COLLEGE getting the KQSC signal.

TRIANGLE SPORTS BROADCASTERS, LLC is selling silent WDUR-A/DURHAM, NC to RAVI CHERUKURI 's AROHI MEDIA LLC for $150,000.  A previous sale to PRIETO BROADCASTING for $900,000 never closed.

CSN INTERNATIONAL is selling W245CA/FORT WAYNE, IN to ADAMS RADIO OF FORT WAYNE for $50,000.  The translator will rebroadcast Religion WLYV-A (REDEEMER RADIO)/FORT WAYNE.

TAUNA M. BARBIERI is selling K245BR/POCATELLO, ID to CARL WATKINS for $839 (paid in three adult and two children's tickets to DISNEYLAND and CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE).

BIRACH BROADCASTING CORP. has requested a Silent STA for WVAB-A/VIRGINIA BEACH, VA while it awaits zoning approval for its new site.

REACH COMMUNICATIONS, INC. has applied for a Silent STA for W246BO/DELTONA, FL to make technical adjustments to allow it to resume rebroadcasting Religion WRUM-HD2 (REACH FM)/ORLANDO.

ONE MINISTRIES, INC. has closed on the sale of noncommercial KZBV/CARMEL VALLEY, CA and FM translator K219LL/CHUALAR, CA to AWARE FM, INC. for $90,000.

MT. OLIVE PRIMITIVE BAPTIST CHURCH has closed on the transfer of the construction permit for FM translator W272DH/NEW SMYRNA BEACH, FL to RICHARD L. VAN ZANDT.

And EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION has closed on the swap of FM translator K281BK/MISSOULA, MT plus $250,000 to SPANISH PEAKS BROADCASTING, INC. for the construction permit for KNFL/CHARLO, MT.
