eONE Indy Rock Artist POP EVIL has scored their third straight #1 single on the MEDIABASE Active Rock charts from their album "Onyx." The emotional power ballad "Torn To Pieces" is the latest #1 Rock single for the rockers from GRAND RAPIDS, MI, following previous #1 singles "Trenches" and "Deal With The Devil."
"Words can't explain the feelings I have after finding out and realizing we've just accomplished such a rare feat," says POP EVIL frontman LEIGH KAKATY. This marks one of the few times in chart history that an artist on an independent record label has landed three number one singles off the same album.
"Torn to Pieces" is a heartfelt tribute to KAKATY’s late father, who passed away around the time the album was being made. KAKATY said, "It's been a roller coaster ride of emotions for me. Through all the outpouring of support from our fan base, we've realized that our music can share common ground and help others during rough times."
The band also saw success around an INSTAGRAM campaign where they encouraged fans to tag their own stories of loved ones lost with #petorntopieces, using the song. The response was overwhelming.
The band recently performed in front of 40,000 fans at ROCK ON THE RANGE FESTIVAL in COLUMBUS, OH. The band performed "Trenches" with the legendary rapper DARRYL D.M.C. MCDANIEL, who remixed the single for a bonus track on a deluxe edition of "Onyx." During the song, the band was honored to have 13 marines showcasing the Lima Company Eyes of Freedom Memorial standing behind them during its performance. Watch the performance HERE.
POP EVIL released "Onyx," their third studio album this time last year, and the release has since gone on to sell over 85,000 copies in the U.S. alone.
