ALL ACCESS congratulates TYLER HUBBARD and BRIAN KELLEY of FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE (FGL), REPUBLIC NASHVILLE Pres. JIMMY HARNEN, VP/Promotion MATTHEW HARGIS and their entire team at REPUBLIC on FGL’s #1 all-genre album debut of “Anything Goes,” which sold 197,000 copies last week, according to NIELSEN SOUNDSCAN figures.
The duo’s sophomore effort is its first-ever #1 album debut and follows 2012’s “Here’s To The Good Times,” which has moved 2.1 million copies since release. That project was powered by four # 1 singles, one of which was “Cruise,” the best-selling digital song ever, at seven million downloads and counting.
The debut-week success of “Anything Goes” also marks the third straight week a Country album has ruled the all-genre chart. It follows BLAKE SHELTON’s “Bringing Back the Sunshine” and JASON ALDEAN’s “Old Boots, New Dirt.” You’d have to go back to 2010 for a previous feat, when ZAC BROWN BAND's “You Get What You Give,” KENNY CHESNEY's “Hemingway's Whiskey” and TOBY KEITH's “Bullets In the Gun” achieved a similar trifecta.
