No Doubt Added To Night 2 Of KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas

No Doubt Replaces U2 On 12/14

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA's NO DOUBT has stepped up to the plate to replace U2 for CBS RADIO Alternative KROQ/LOS ANGELES' historic 25th Annual "KROQ ALMOST ACOUSTIC CHRISTMAS" on night #2 SUNDAY, DECEMBER 14th. Yesterday (12/3), U2 guitarist THE EDGE called in to THE KEVIN & BEAN SHOW with the unfortunate news that the band would be unble to play KROQ's show due to BONO's recent bike accident. He also delivered breaking news on U2's upcoming 2015 World Tour (including four dates in L.A. at THE FORUM on MAY 26th, MAY 27th, MAY 30th, and MAY 31st) 

THE EDGE had this to say about BONO: “He managed to come out of it with what you can only describe as injuries from a car crash, literally multiple fractures of bones in his elbow and his back. But he’s doing OK. We’re kind of lucky he was wearing a helmet, so he didn’t actually break CENTRAL PARK. He’s made of tough stuff and he’s bouncing back.”  

“He’s so upset about the fact that unfortunately as we’re about to announce, we’re not going to be able to do the ACOUSTIC CHRISTMAS. He’s been told by his doctors to stay put. He’s back in DUBLIN right now and he basically can’t move for the next couple of months.”

Meanwhile, NO DOUBT is now confirmed for night #2 of KROQ ALMOST ACOUSTIC CHRISTMAS" on 12/14.  It marks the band's sixth apperance on KROQ's holiday show. NO DOUBT bassist TONY KANAL told THE KEVIN & BEAN SHOW this morning (12/4): "We were talking, and we were talking about how important KROQ has been to us over the years and honestly if it wasn’t for you guys we wouldn’t be where we are today. You guys helped break us, you guys have been so supportive of us and we heard you have a big party coming up, the 25th anniversary of the [ALMOST] ACOUSTIC CHRISTMAS. Honestly, I was going to call you and say ‘Can we get some tickets?’ because we saw the lineup and we were like ‘Wow, we have to come see this show.’ Then we were talking and we’re like ‘What better way to see the show than be on stage and play, so I’m actually calling to see if it’s cool if we come and rock out with you guys.”

Night one is 12/13 with BUSH, FALL OUT BOY, INCUBUS, LINKIN PARK, NEW POLITICS, RISE AGAINST, ROYAL BLOOD, SYSTEM OF A DOWN and WALK THE MOON.

Night two is 12/14 with ALT-J, IMAGINE DRAGONS, INTERPOL, MODEST MOUSE, NO DOUBT, SMASHING PUMPKINS, TEARS FOR FEARS, VANCE JOY and WEEZER.
