"THE VOICE" finalists CHRIS JAMISON, MATT McANDREW, DAMIEN, and CRAIG WAYNE BOYD will all perform original songs in tonight’s two-hour telecast, the second episode of the two-night finale for season seven of the EMMY-winning music competition series, on NBC at 9-11p (ET/PT). The artists will also release the songs on ITUNES and will release original videos for their songs, linked below.
Coach ADAM LEVINE worked closely with his three remaining artists and personally reviewed and listened to hundreds of songs that he thought would be appropriate for their first single in matching the personality of each artist, saying, “I’m so incredibly proud of my team and how far they have come. Being able to have input to select their original songs this season has been an incredible experience.”
JAMISON will sing “Velvet,” from writers ELOF, KELLEN POMERANZ, ALEX LACASSE and 1916 MANAGEMENT. McANDREW will sing “Wasted Love” from writers BRANDON LOWRY, CHANTAL KREVIAZUK, SHIMON MOORE, MIKE FIORENTINO and 1916 MANAGEMENT; and DAMIAN will perform “Soldier,” from writers JOHAN CARLSSON, ASHTON PARSON and producer MAX MARTIN.
BOYD, the sole remaining member of Coach BLAKE SHELTON’s team, will perform “My Baby’s Got A Smile On Her Face,” written by MARK MARCHETTI and STEPHANIE JONES. The song was originally written for SHELTON, who gave it to BOYD to use for last night’s show. “I’ve been carrying ‘My Baby’s Got A Smile’ around with me for several years,” SHELTON said. “I always knew there was something special about it. It never ceases to amaze me how songs find their home. This thing was meant for CRAIG WAYNE BOYD, no doubt.. It’s truly a magical pairing.”
