MATCHBOX TWENTY will 'TAKEOVER" MARK CUBAN's AXS TV kicking off SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 15th at 12p (ET) for a special day-long event featuring over 12 hours of live concert footage with COUNTING CROWS, TRAIN, THE FRAY and JOHN MAYER.
The day will kick off at noon with NOTHING BUT VIDEOS: MATCHBOX TWENTY EDITION, interstitial content, and exclusive band interviews, leading up to the television premiere of the concert film MATCHBOX TWENTY LIVE NORTH at 8p (ET). Shot during the band's 2013 tour, the 90-minute special features an up-close-and-personal performance that includes such hits as "Bent," "3 AM," "She's So Mean," “Unwell” and "How Far We've Come."
MATCHBOX TWENTY will also be taking over AXS TV’s TWITTER account to talk to fans in a special interactive live event happening 30 minutes before the premiere of the concert film at 7:30p (ET). Using #MB20Takeover, participants will be able to send their tweets directly to the band. A few fans will be randomly selected to win albums and bracelets, and two lucky winners will take home a MATCHBOX TWENTY Digital TourBook.
Other programming highlights include concert film premieres including pop crooner BEN RECTOR (2p ET), and folk rocker MATT NATHANSON (3:05p ET); along with sets from LIFEHOUSE (5p ET); THE WALLFLOWERS (6p ET); THE FRAY (7p ET); a two-part event featuring JOHN MAYER with BUDDY GUY (9:30p ET); TRAIN: Live in CHICAGO (11:30p ET); and COUNTING CROWS: Live at AUDITORIUM SHORES (12:50a ET).
“MATCHBOX TWENTY is an incredible live band, and AXS TV is proud to be able to deliver the ultimate front row experience to our audience with the premiere of their latest concert film,” said AXS TV VP Music Programming and Production EVAN HAIMAN. “I’m confident their fans are really going to love it.”
