Richard Davies Retires From ABC News Radio

Longtime ABC NEWS RADIO reporter RICHARD DAVIES has retired from the network after 29 years. DAVIES is launching a weekly podcast, "HOW DO WE FIX IT?." with former POPULAR MECHANICS Editor-in-Chief JIM MEIGS. focused on "fixing" challenging problems facing society.
VP/GM STEVE JONES, in a memo to the network's staff, wrote that DAVIES approached him last year voicing interest in moving into talk programming, and added that DAVIES and ABC NEWS would "work together on some of these new program concepts."
"During his very distinguished career, RICHARD DAVIES has reported from four continents and more than 20 nations," wrote JONES. "He has covered wars, political campaigns, the collapse of the Soviet Union and royal weddings. He also developed an expertise in business news coverage. Personally, I’ve worked with RICHARD for over two decades and have always enjoyed his intellectual curiosity and energetic approach to our craft."
