One of the oldest radio hoaxes in the book came back to life in LIVERPOOL last week, as Top 40 JUICE FM got national publicity when it hired an actress to pose as an elderly woman handing out cash from her bag because she "didn't need it anymore."
The stunt saw actress RUBY DICKENS giving passers-by £5 notes, which landed her on the front page of the LIVERPOOL ECHO and papers across the UK telling credulous reporters that "a fiver doesn't buy anything these days, not even a round of drinks, so it's not such a large amount." The station 'fessed up to the publicity stunt by "revealing where she got the money" on LOUIS HURTS' morning show on FRIDAY (9/7).
