GREATER MEDIA Active Rock WMMR/PHILADELPHIA's PRESTON & STEVE Morning Show have launched Pope Bot to the world, or at least PHILADELPHIA. A few weeks back, the hitchBOT robot that was made in ONTARIO, CANADA and hitchhiked across CANADA last summer, was two weeks into it's journey across the U.S. when it was permanently damaged in the PHILADELPHIA area.
On MONDAY morning (8/17), WMMR's PRESTON & STEVE launched Pope Bot with this message from their page on the WMMR web site, "Hello, I'm Pope Bot. Inspired by my friend, #HitchBot, who sadly met his demise in PHILADELPHIA, I am taking a journey around the DELAWARE VALLEY. The goal of my adventure is to prove to the VATICAN that this area is a safe environment for the leader of the church. Plus, there is a prize each week for one person who gives me a lift!"
POPE FRANCIS will be visiting the U.S. next month and will stop in PHILADELPHIA the weekend of SEPTEMBER 26th and 27th, so PRESTON & STEVE are launching Pope Bot as a precautionary measure. For more photos and stories from WMMR about PRESTON & STEVE's Papal Robot Hitchhiker, click here.
