AMERICAN FAMILY ASSOCIATION is selling the construction permit for K249ET/COLLEGE STATION, TX to BRYAN BROADCASTING LICENSE CORPORATION for $100,000. The translator will rebroadcast Alternative KNDE-HD2 (ROCK CANDY)/COLLEGE STATION.
In other filings with the FCC, KANZA SOCIETY, INC. is requesting an extension of its Silent STA for K217CS/WASHBURN, TX while it looks for tower space at a new site.
SHOW LOW COMMUNITY RADIO has filed for a Silent STA for KPKX-LP/SHOW LOW, AZ due to electrical issues forcing it to move to another site.
And GALAXY COMMUNICATIONS LLC has closed on the sale of W263CG/COLONIE, NY (ALBANY) to PAMAL's 6 JOHNSON ROAD LICENSES, INC. for $135,000. The translator will rebroadcast Oldies WROW-A (MAGIC 590)/ALBANY.
Also, after community outcry over the proposed sale by COMMONWEALTH BROADCASTING of WPKY-A/PRINCETON, KY, a group of local investors is buying the station, reports the PRINCETON TIMES LEADER. TIGER MEDIA LLC, consisting of local MCDONALD'S franchisees JOE and KATHY MCENANEY, DANN and JAYE LYNN HUGHES, and LUCINDA HUGHES GRAY, are planning to buy the AM station and an FM translator and operate it as "THE TIGER." CAROLINE GARCIA will serve as GM and the station will air local high school football games during the transition, with OCTOBER as the target date for a return to local programming on AM with the FM side to follow later. Sister full-power FM WAVJ flipped to simulcast Country WWKY (HOWDY 97.7)/EVANSVILLE and is not being sold.
