The syndicated BERT SHOW made headline news this week, as the national morning radio show gained attention for a very special segment which was featured on THE TODAY SHOW, GOOD MORNING AMERICA, HUFFINGTON POST PARENTING, FOX AND FRIENDS, INSIDE EDITION and more, even making its way "down under" on a local AUSTRALIAN TV station.
Kids are officially back to school, and THE BERT SHOW took it upon themselves to help parents get their children back in the swing of things. Parents have been encouraged to call the show to help them wake up their kids in extremely unique ways, to guarantee that they’ll have no prob-lems getting out of bed for school the rest of the year.
The show first surprised 10-year-old SOPHIE of ATLANTA, who was said to be impossible to get up in the morning. After her mom tried everything from rubbing her back to making cinnamon rolls -- hoping the smell would awaken her daughter -- she called THE BERT SHOW which facilitated a five-piece jazz band to wake SOPHIE from her sleep.
“It has been mother and father approved”, said BERT WEISS, host of THE BERT SHOW. WEISS told SOPHIE after the surprise, “Mom says she’s been having a tough time getting you up, she’s tried everything and this was a last resort. We thought this would be a fun way to help.”
SOPHIE was a good sport about the whole surprise, as WEISS joked the band would come back to visit if she continued having difficulties getting up for school. SOPHIE said, “Ok... I need to buy myself some ear plugs.”
Since SOPHIE’s special wake-up call, THE BERT SHOW also surprised KATIE with a theater cast singing THE LION KING’s "Circle of Life" while using her pet guinea pig, OREO, as SIMBA. Check it out below:
