CBS RADIO Country KMLE/PHOENIX was able to deliver a special gift from TAYLOR SWIFT directly to one of her biggest fans, an 11-year-old girl named NAOMI. The young SWIFT fan made headlines earlier this year when it was announced that she had been diagnosed with leukemia and would be unable to use the tickets she had secured for the upcoming SWIFT concert. A GOFUNDME page was set up for NAOMI to help fund the intensive care she was to receive, and SWIFT herself made a $50,000 donation to the campaign.
When SWIFT made it to PHOENIX for her "1989 WORLD TOUR" stop, the KMLE morning team of STEVE and NINA met with SWIFT, who was delighted to sign a card with a message to NAOMI, donate two guitar picks and some shirts and bracelets to go with the teddy bear and crafting supplies KMLE staffers had for NAOMI. The best news of all comes in the announcement that NAOMI is now in remission thanks to treatments funded by generous donors. KMLE MD CHRIS MATTHEWS said, "This is what radio is all about, folks!"
