Morning Show Additions Complete Air Staff Shuffle

iHEARTMEDIA Country WFRE/FREDERICK, MD has re-tooled its morning show, debuting TODAY (8/24) as “TOM WHALEN AND THE NEW FREE COUNTRY WAKE UP CREW,” with current teamer DIANAH GIBSON’s role expanding from handling news reports. She succeeds DINA CAROLE, who recently left the station for personal reasons.

GIBSON remains Dir./News for iHEART/FREDERICK and continues her duties on Talk clustermate WFMD-A. Additionally, weekend personality KATIE RYAN joins WFRE’s “WAKE UP CREW” and will now handle news and information segments while also providing traffic updates on WFMD. “DIANAH has been working with TOM for several years and she wanted to step up and be a bigger part of the show,” said PD DON BRAKE. “Adding KATIE to the show will give it a youthful side that we have been missing. KATIE joined us three years as an intern, later served on our street team and for more than a year did an outstanding job as a member of the weekend on air team."

These moves follow WFRE's summer air staff shuffling, which featured the return of HOLLY MCCALL to handle middays, BRAKE's move to nights and BRIAN MO and DAVE CONRAD teaming for afternoons (NET NEWS 7/10).
