Virgin Islands Newsman Alvin G Dies

Condolences to family and friends of longtime VIRGIN ISLANDS radio newsman ALVIN G (a/k/a ALVIN GEE), who died AUGUST 13th, according to the ST. CROIX SOURCE.

Born ALVIN GEORGE SYLVESTER SOUTHWELL in ANTIGUA, he was a familiar voice on the radio in the islands, most recently as News Director at CREATIVE MINDS Urban WLDV (107.9FM THE VYBE)/CHRISTIANSTED, ST. CROIX, where he worked since 2010.  He previously was heard as News Director at the JKC COMMUNICATIONS stations and at JKC's WSTX-A-F/CHARLOTTE AMALIE, ST. THOMAS.  ALVIN G had suffered from diabetes over the years.

AUGUST 25th has been declared "ALVIN GEORGE SYLVESTER SOUTHWELL Day" in the VIRGIN ISLANDS by Governor KENNETH MAPP.
