CURTIS MEDIA News-Talk WPTF-A (NEWSRADIO 680 WPTF) and News-Talk WPTK-A (TALKRADIO 850 WPTF)/RALEIGH-DURHAM are shuffling programming, moving two shows -- the syndicated CLARK HOWARD show and local BILL LUMAYE talk show -- from WPTK to WPTF, clearing the way for a new format on WPTK starting TOMORROW (8/27).
HOWARD's show will remain in the 1-3p (ET) weekday slot once it moves to WPTF's 680 AM signal, and LUMAYE moves from 3-7p on 850 AM to 10a-noon on 680. One tape-delayed hour of HOWARD and an hour repeat of LUMAYE will air at 7p and 8p, respectively. HOWARD, whose show was airing on tape delay 7-9p on 680 as well as in middays on 850, and LUMAYE are replacing news hours on 680. The syndicated SAM SORBO, LARS LARSON, and "FREE TALK LIVE" shows, which were airing on 850 AM, will be dropped from that station, which let morning man DOUG KELLETT go last week.
RALEIGH AND CO.'s R.L. BYNUM is reporting that 850 will flip to an Oldies format with a simulcast on two 104.7 FM translators, WW284CP/RALEIGH and W284CD/YOUNGSVILLE, NC.
