The replacement for MIKE LUPICA in the 1-3p (ET) slot at ESPN Sports WEPN-F (ESPN NEW YORK 98.7FM)/NEW YORK will be evening team "HAHN AND HUMPTY" -- ALAN HAHN and former ISLANDERS goalie RICK DIPIETRO, according to a report by the NEW YORK DAILY NEWS' BOB RAISSMAN.
LUPICA, the DAILY NEWS columnist and ESPN "THE SPORTS REPORTERS" personality, recently exited WEPN (NET NEWS 8/24).
RAISSMAN also reports that noon-1p "RUOCCO AND ROTHENBERG" co-host DAVE ROTHENBERG will move into HAHN and DIPIETRO's 7-10p slot, while the station will carry DAN LEBATARD's national ESPN RADIO show in the 10a-noon slot vacated by COLIN COWHERD.
LaGreca Inks Extension
The station has also signed afternoon "THE MICHAEL KAY SHOW" co-host DON LAGRECA to a three-year extension.
“Being the first voice of 98.7 ESPN radio, it became hard to imagine working anywhere else,” said LAGRECA. “I think MICHAEL KAY and I have built something special. He's the best in the business, and I can't wait for what the future brings.”
“DON has established himself as one of the most knowledgeable hosts in all of NEW YORK sports,” said GM TIM MCCARTHY. “He is a rare breed who can combine talk and play-by-play without missing a beat. DON and MICHAEL are one of the longest-tenured and most entertaining sports talk teams in the country.”
