Former SAN DIEGO CHARGERS radio analyst and player HANK BAUER has landed at BROADCAST COMPANY OF THE AMERICAS Sports XEPRS-A (MIGHTY 1090)/SAN DIEGO as the station's NFL and CHARGERS analyst.
BAUER, who was let go after last season and was suspended for one game last preseason for a joke about play-by-play voice JOSH LEWIN that many interpreted as anti-Semitic, will appear twice weekly -- FRIDAYs and MONDAYS at 7:35a and 4:35p (PT) -- with morning host DAN SILEO and afternoon team SCOTT KAPLAN and BILLY RAY SMITH starting AUGUST 28th. As previously announced, BAUER will also be serving as an analyst on SPORTS USA's NFL broadcasts.
Programming/Operations Manager MIKE SHEPARD said, “HANK is simply one-of-a-kind. His football experience and knowledge and insight is amazing, but even more importantly his on-air presence and sense of humor makes him a true entertainer and a perfect fit for the MIGHTY 1090”!
BAUER added, “I'm really looking forward to having fun with the pros at 1090, most of whom I've known and respected for many many years."
