A WESTWOOD ONE spokesperson has confirmed reports that it has discontinued its Variety Hits “SAM – Simply About Music” service. That has prompted its affiliate stations to find new formats.

PIEDMONT COMMUNICATIONS WOJL (105.5 SAM-FM)/LOUISA, VA segued over to WESTWOOD ONE’s Classic Hits network as “SAM-FM – Classic Hits 105.5.“ Meanwhile, NRG MEDIA’s WRKX (95.3 SAM-FM)/OTTAWA, IL has adopted the “JACK-FM” brand as “95.3 JACK-FM."
