Actor Martin Milner Dies At 83; Hosted Radio Shows In San Diego

Actor MARTIN MILNER, the co-star of iconic '60s TV series "ROUTE 66" and "ADAM-12" who later turned is interest in fishing into a long-running SAN DIEGO-area radio show, passed away SUNDAY (9/6) at 83.
MILNER was best known as "Tod" alongside GEORGE MAHARIS' "Buz" on the road drama "ROUTE 66," which aired on CBS in 1960-64, and as "Officer Pete Molloy" with KENT MCCORD as "Officer Jim Reed" on JACK WEBB's police procedural "ADAM-12" on NBC in 1968-75. He also co-starred in 1957's "SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS," 1967's "VALLEY OF THE DOLLS," and IRWIN ALLEN's 1975-76 TV version of "SWISS FAMILY ROBINSON." He guest-starred on many series over the years, including "FANTASY ISLAND," "MURDER SHE WROTE," "MACGYVER," and "DIAGNOSIS MURDER."
MILNER hosted mornings at KOGO-A/SAN DIEGO in 1983 and co-hosted a weekend fishing show, "LET'S TALK HOOKUP," on Sports XETRA-A (XTRA SPORTS 690)/SAN DIEGO in 1993 through 2003 (the show continues today with MILNER's co-host PETE GRAY and RICK MAXA on crosstown BCA Sports XEPRS-A (MIGHTY 1090)).
