NPR's Bob Kempf Joins WGBH/Boston As VP/Digital Services

Former NPR VP/GM of Digital Services BOB KEMPF is joining WGBH EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION News-Talk WGBH-F and PBS affiliates WGBH-TV and WGBX-TV/BOSTON as VP/Digital Services. KEMPF, who starts at WGBH in OCTOBER was one of those responsible for the launch of the NPR ONE app. Before NPR, KEMPF served as VP/Product and Technology at the BOSTON GLOBE's BOSTON.COM.
"With his inside understanding of media organizations, his expertise in digital technology and strategy, and his focus on serving audiences – not to mention his deep local roots -- BOB is ideally suited to move WGBH ahead in all aspects of our digital services," said WGBH COO BEN GODLEY.
KEMPF said, "For the BOSTON region and for the nation WGBH represents what's best in public media, and I am thrilled to join the innovative team that is moving digital in creative new directions as part of advancing their mission of public service."
