HUBBARD News WTOP/WASHINGTON is partnering with CBS NEWS' "48 HOURS" to produce and distribute a five-part podcast on the HANNAH GRAHAM murder that is also the subject of the season premiere of the CBS television series. "THE HANNAH GRAHAM STORY," anchored and reported by WTOP's NEAL AUGENSTEIN, will be posted with a new episode each day this week.
GRAHAM, a college student in CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA, disappeared after a night out with friends; the discovery of her body led to revelations about a string of unsolved attacks against young women. AUGENSTEIN's reporting is also featured on the TV version.
“The HANNAH GRAHAM story hits home with so many families, and there are so many layers, that it was perfect for the podcast format,” said 48 HOURS Sr. Exec. Producer SUSAN ZIRINSKY. “Each podcast is a unique slice of our story. Rich in detail -- experiential -- we expect anyone who listens to even a few minutes will also become devoted viewers to our primetime broadcasts. These podcasts provide a perfect lead-in to our two-hour primetime investigation into the fascinating, yet heartbreaking GRAHAM case on SEPTEMBER 26th.”
"The HANNAH GRAHAM story is so tragic, yet compelling, that it takes a news team like 48 HOURS to do it justice,” said AUGENSTEIN “It's an honor to collaborate with them on the broadcast and podcast."
