This Time (Really!) It's Official: David Friedman Named UMG Nashville VP/Promotion

David Friedman: Absolutely, Positively Officially Working At UMG

In a move that comes as a surprise to absolutely no one and the announcement of which can only be described as anti-climactic, former COLUMBIA NASHVILLE Dir./National Promotion DAVID FRIEDMAN has officially joined UMG NASHVILLE as VP/Promotion, two weeks after ALL ACCESS first reported it (NET NEWS 9/1).

“For as long as I can remember I have wanted to work with DAVID,” said UMG NASHVILLE SVP/Promotion ROYCE RISSER. “His experience and relationships with Country radio make him the perfect fit for our team at UMG. I am absolutely ecstatic to have him join us.”

FRIEDMAN takes over for KATIE DEAN, now serving as MCA NASHVILLE VP/Promotion (NET NEWS 6/22). And it’s a return of sorts for FRIEDMAN, who started his promotion career with CAPITOL NASHVILLE before spending the last 15 years at SONY NASHVILLE, handling regional and National chores for both ARISTA and COLUMBIA.
