KRISTEN KURTIS, former midday host, APD and MD at Triple A KGSR/AUSTIN, has returned to her hometown of PHILADELPHIA as the new morning show host at UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA Triple A WXPN.
She replaces MICHAELA MAJOUN, who recently retired from the station after 25 years.
“We’re really excited to have KRISTEN join our team,” said BRUCE WARREN, Assoc.. GM/Programming. “She’s a huge lover of music, radio, people and the PHILLY area, where she grew up.”
KURTIS said, "As one who was raised on PHILADELPHIA radio, returning to the area via 88.5 brings my life and career full circle. I am ecstatic, proud and honored to be joining the prestigious staff at WXPN.”
Before KGSR, KURTIS was previously midday host and MD for Triple A KEZE and afternoon host at KZZU, both in Spokane, WA. She began her radio career in Boston, where she graduated from Emerson College and was morning Host at WERS, and later held on-air shifts at WBOS. In addition to on-air and programming expertise, KURTIS also brings to WXPN her skills in digital media, and experience in improv, sketch and stand-up comedy.
KURTIS starts her new job in OCTOBER.
