The NHL's SAN JOSE SHARKS have inked a multi-year extension with ENTERCOM Classic Rock KUFX (98.5 KFOX)/SAN JOSE. The deal includes pre- and post-game shows and feature material for KFOX and sister Sports KGMZ (95.7 THE GAME)/SAN FRANCISCO. DAN RUSANOWSKY, in his 25th year calling the games, continues as the radio voice of the SHARKS, with BRET HEDICAN as analyst for about 50 of the 82 regular season games and former SHARKS CURTIS BROWN, OWEN NOLAN, JAMIE BAKER, and KYLE MCLAREN joining RUSANOWSKY for some broadcasts this season.
SHARKS COO JOHN TORTORA said, “KFOX has become synonymous with SHARKS hockey since the partnership began nearly 15 years ago. We are proud to continue our lasting partnership with a great radio company. SHARKS fans throughout the BAY AREA are very strongly attached to the storied heritage of classic rock and SHARKS Hockey on 98.5 KFOX. It is especially exciting to bring our full half-hour pre-game shows to every regular season broadcast and also to introduce additional features to our many listeners, beginning this OCTOBER.”
“All of us at KFOX and ENTERCOM COMMUNICATIONS are thrilled to continue our long-standing partnership with the SAN JOSE SHARKS,” said ENTERCOM VP/Market Manager STEVE DINARDO. “The SHARKS’ appeal unifies our community; we are proud to be the radio home for each and every game, as we have been for the past fifteen years.”
