NORTHERN KENTUCKY UNIVERSITY Triple A WNKU/CINCINNATI is changing its program lineup. First, the station is dedicating more hours of the week than ever before to locally-produced programming. Second, THE REAL MARY PEALE IS going back to her roots and returning to SUNDAY NIGHTS where she hosts the “Jelly Pudding Show.” Third, the station welcomes its newest host, SLEDGE, to weekends.
Here's what the new weekday schedule looks like, MONDAY-FRIDAY:
- 12-4a: WNKU Music
- 4-6: World Café
- 6-10a: Morning Mix with ELAINE DIEHL
- 10a-1p: LIZ FELIX
- 1-3p: JOHN PATRICK
- 3-7p: GARY KEEGAN
- 7p-12a: PAM TEMPLE
“Undercurrents,” “E-town,” “Little Steven’s Underground Garage” and “Fur Peace Ranch” have been dropped.
Further, instead of consolidating local music into a one-hour-a-week show the station will be mixing more local artists in throughout the day -- with a goal of at least one local song per hour. And WNKU will soon be launching a new feature called "Adopt-a-Band" where it will spotlight a different local act for an entire month, every month.
