SMOKEY RIVERS is joining SCRIPPS’ TUCSON cluster as OM, effective OCTOBER 19th. RIVERS, the programming veteran most recently VP/Programming for iHEARTMEDIA’s PHOENIX cluster, will oversee News-Talk KQTH, Sports KFFN-A-K285DL (ESPN TUCSON), AC KMXZ (94.9 MIX FM), and Rhythmic Oldies KTGV (106.3 THE GROOVE)/TUCSON.
“It was a long and active search and we are very fortunate to welcome SMOKEY to SCRIPPS,” said VP/GM LEON CLARK. “He is a creative idea generator with an extensive and varied background in several formats. His expertise is perfect for our stations here in TUCSON. I am confident that SMOKEY will continue to help grow these very important brands in the TUCSON market.”
“Thanks to LEON CLARK, BEVERLEE BRANNIGAN and STEVE WEXLER for being personal and provocative throughout the interviewing and hiring process,” said RIVERS. “I look forward to this opportunity to once again become a part of the SCRIPPS family and to help lead the TUCSON stations to even greater success.”
