After just over two months of ownership, PREMIERE NETWORKS syndicated "BOBBY BONES SHOW" host BOBBY BONES has sold DONALD TRUMP's "Make AMERICA Great Again" campaign slogan back to him. BONES originally filed a trademark application in AUGUST (NET NEWS 8/14) giving him exclusive rights to the slogan currently being utilized by the GOP Presidential candidate.
BONES explained on-air that he planned to create and market his own line of "Make AMERICA Great Again" shirts and hats, with proceeds going to ST. JUDE CHILDREN'S RESEARCH HOSPTIAL. He also noted that he was willing to sell the trademark to TRUMP -- who had been using the slogan since the onset of his Presidential bid but failed to trademark the phrase -- in exchange for a one-on-one interview with TRUMP and a $100,000 donation to ST. JUDE.
Listeners have been following the saga as BONES shared bits and pieces of the ongoing negotiations on a semi-regular basis. This AFTERNOON (10/29), BONES posted a photo to the show's FACEBOOK page saying, "So I can't technically say how much this check is for. But thanks to DONALD TRUMP. This check goes to ST. JUDE, and he can have his slogan back."
BONES shared his relief in seeing the negotiations come to an end, telling ALL ACCESS exclusively, "I can say that I don't own the slogan anymore, and that a check was written from TRUMP to ST. JUDE. It has been very interesting, but I'm glad it's over. Thanks to DONALD TRUMP for the cash...now go make your hats." Since terms of the agreement haven't been released, we can only speculate as to whether or not BONES will get his one-on-one with TRUMP. Most would easily agree, however, that a significant donation to ST. JUDE is a nice first step toward making AMERICA great again.
