John Marks To Join Spotify As Global Head of Country Music Programming

Former SIRIUSXM Sr. Dir./Country Programming JOHN MARKS has joined online streaming service SPOTIFY in the newly created position of Global Head of Country Music Programming, effective immediately.

An article in TODAY’s (11/2) TENNESSEAN business section announced MARKS’ new position and outlined SPOTIFY’s commitment to the Country genre. "Making a hire like JOHN MARKS speaks to our investment [in Country] and interest in helping develop it," SPOTIFY VP/Content and Distribution STEVE SAVOCA told the TENNESSEAN.

MARKS posted on his FACEBOOK page this morning (11/2): "I look forward to working to expand the market for SPOTIFY, for Country music, globally and nationally. This is a true build it from the ground floor opportunity to further develop SPOTIFY's's Country platform worldwide."
