ALL ACCESS congratulates the entire SONY NASHVILLE team and 19 RECORDINGS/ARISTA NASHVILLE’s CARRIE UNDERWOOD, whose "Storyteller" album rewrote history in its debut week. Her sixth full release debuted at #1 on this week’s Country albums chart, with 177,000 equivalent album units and 164,000 pure sales, according to NIELSEN MUSIC figures.
In doing so, UNDERWOOD becomes the only artist to have each of her first six albums debut at the top of the albums chart. Additionally, UNDERWOOD joins an elite group of female Country artists with the most #1 album debuts; a list which includes REBA, LORETTA LYNN, and DOLLY PARTON. The record-setting week for UNDERWOOD also marks the highest-selling female debut in the past 12 months, surpassing only herself, as UNDERWOOD’s "Greatest Hits: Decade #1" sold 94,000 copies upon its release in DECEMBER of last YEAR.
