Nielsen October PPM Analysis: A Good Month For News-Talk, Sports

NIELSEN's analysis of OCTOBER 2015 PPM numbers brought good news for Sports stations, with last OCTOBER's record performance eclipsed by another record, up from a 4.6 AQH share in SEPTEMBER to 5.6 in Persons 6+ in OCTOBER, and up from 5.1 % in SEPTEMBER to 6% in OCTOBER for Adults 25-54. News-Talk also performed exceptionally well, at 9.4% overall, matching its level of NOVEMBER 2013.

Among Persons 6+, Top 40 Radio listening share declined from 8.4% to 7.4% between JUNE and OCTOBER (the latter ranking as its second-lowest ever), with 18-34 tied for its lowest point at 12%; Country continued a three-month decline to 7.9%, Urban fell back from SEPTEMBER's record 3.7% to 3.5%, and Hot AC has declined from JULY's record 6.9% to 6.4% in OCTOBER.
