SAGA COMMUNICATIONS INC., through its FRANKLIN COMMUNICATIONS, INC. COLUMBUS RADIO GROUP, has purchased Classic Rock WLVQ (Q-FM 96)/COLUMBUS, OH from WILKS BROADCAST-COLUMBUS, LLC for $13 million. The deal, yet to appear in the FCC database, was brokered by MICHAEL J. BERGNER of BERGNER AND CO.
CRG President/GM CHRIS FORGY said, “The addition of heritage station Q-FM-96 to the COLUMBUS RADIO GROUP (CRG) only strengthens CRG’s proficiency in delivering our customers’ marketing messages to the mature adult audience in central OHIO. We’re thrilled to welcome Q to our family.”
SAGA President/CEO ED CHRISTIAN added, “This station will add another heritage radio station to our already strong station group in COLUMBUS, OH. We look forward to working with the existing staff to continue the great rock heritage that this station has established."

In other filings at the FCC, SAM-SNO EDUCATIONAL MEDIA is transferring K225BY/OLYMPIA, WA to NORTHWEST INDY RADIO for no consideration.
AMERICAN FAMILY ASSOCIATION is selling W256CJ/FINDLAY, OH to HOLY FAMILY COMMUNICATIONS for $25,000.
HORIZON CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP is selling K291BU/YUCCA, AZ to ADVANCE MINISTRIES, INC. for $3,000.
GABRIELLE BROADCASTING LICENSEE I, LLC has applied for a Silent STA for KHEP-A (the former RADIO DISNEY station KMIK-A)/TEMPE, AZ, keeping the station silent while it prepares to move to the site of now-sister Religion KXEG-A (1280 THE TRUMPET)/PHOENIX.
COVENANT NETWORK has requested an extension of its Silent STA for W248CH/BELLEVILLE, IL while an application for a frequency change pends.
AMERICAN PUBLIC MEDIA GROUP's CLASSICAL SOUTH FLORIDA has closed on the sale of Contemporary Christian K-LOVE affiliates WMLV (formerly Classical WKCP)/MIAMI, WFLV (formerly Classical WPBI)/WEST PALM BEACH, and WDLV (formerly Classical WNPS)/FORT MYERS, FL, to EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION for $21.7 million.
TOWERS INVESTMENT TRUST has closed on the sale of Contemporary Christian WBNK (BIG FISH FM)/PINE KNOLL SHORES, NC to BRADLEY J. LANSER and LESLIE J. LANSER's EMPOWERED BROADCASTING COMPANY for $275,000.
QUEEN CITIES BROADCASTING LLC has closed on the sale of Hot AC WAOL (99.5 THE EDGE)/RIPLEY, OH to DREAMCATCHER COMMUNICATIONS, INC. for $340,000. The buyer has programmed the station under an LMA since 2011.
B & G BROADCASTING, INC. has closed on the sale of Hot AC WKLW-F (K-LITE 94.7)/PAINTSVILLE, KY to S.I.P. BROADCASTING COMPANY, INC. for $700,000.
CUMBERLAND BROADCASTING, LLC has closed on the sale of Country WKYR-F (K108)/BURKESVILLE, KY to CONNIE R. CRABTREE's RIVER COUNTRY COMMUNICATIONS, LLC for $450,000.
And MALVERN ENTERTAINMENT CORP. has closed on the sale of Country KYMT (MOUNTAIN COUNTRY 92.7)/GASSVILLE, AR, News-Talk KJMT (MOUNTAIN TALK 97)/CALICO ROCK, AR, and Country KCMC-F (MOUNTAIN COUNTRY 94.3)/VIOLA, AR to to MONTE SPEARMAN's HIGH PLAINS RADIO NETWORK, LLC for $820,000. BILL CATE of MEDIA SERVICES GROUP served as broker for the deal.
CUMULUS LICENSING LLC has surrendered the license for KSTB/CRYSTAL BEACH, TX, knocked off the air by Hurricane Ike and unable to return on a permanent basis since.
And EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION has turned in the license for KAIZ/MESQUITE, NV.
