CUMULUS MEDIA Classic Rock WGRF-F (97 ROCK)/BUFFALO's taps RICH “THE BULL” GAENZLER as its new morning host, beginning MONDAY, DECEMBER 7th. GAENZLER joins current morning show team members ROB LEDERMAN, CHRISTINE KLEIN and producer, STEVE TRIPI. He steps into the role following the retirement of morning radio legend LARRY NORTON, whose last show on 97 ROCK airs on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 4th.
GAENZLER comes to WGRF from sister stations WEDG (ROCK RADIO 103.3 THE EDGE), where he hosts the 3-7p show, and from WHLD-A (SPORTS RADIO 1270 THE FAN), where he hosts a daily sports talk show from Noon-3p.
PD JOHN HAGER said, “Replacing a local legend such as LARRY NORTON is never easy. We were fortunate to have a talented veteran broadcaster inside our cluster that we could comfortably move to 97 ROCK’s morning show. RICH GAENZLER has a unique radio background and with his rock and sports experiences, is a perfect fit for our listeners.”
GAENZLER said, “It's such a massive opportunity. I have to thank the CUMULUS organization both at our headquarters in ATLANTA and locally here for putting their faith in me to maintain and grow such a great product. Playing QB essentially for such a storied franchise with so much history is an incredible undertaking. Hopefully, my 18 years in BUFFALO with THE EDGE, THE FAN, and THE BILLS RADIO NETWORK has prepared me for this next stop on my radio journey. Ultimately, the hope is that who and what you're talking about day-to-day will start with us in the mornings on 97 ROCK.”
