The FCC has adopted a consent decree with AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE requiring the school to pay $1,200 to settle violations of the public file rule at student station WAIC/SPRINGFIELD, MA.
The station's license renewal application said that it had failed to timely prepare and place in the Station’s public file any of the 32 required issues and programs lists; the application itself was also filed almost four months late, and three days before the license expired. The initially-proposed fine of $13,500 was reduced in the agreement due to the Commission's policy of leniency towards student-run noncommercial educational station first-time offenders.
