iHEARTMEDIA syndicated morning team ARMSTRONG & GETTY hosted their 5th annual fundraiser for FISHER HOUSE from NOVEMBER 9th through 13th, to commemorate VETERAN'S DAY week to help build new FISHER homes on the grounds of VA and military medical centers and help bring military families together as their loved ones receive medical treatment. This year, the goal was to raise $500,000 and listeners responded with over $544,000.
“In just one week, JACK ARMSTRONG and JOE GETTY raised more than $540,000 during their VETERANS WEEK RADIOTHON for FISHER HOUSE FOUNDATION,” said FISHER HOUSE FOUNDATION Chairman/CEO KEN FISHER. “This brings their total to more than $2.3 million during the past five years. But just as important is the awareness they have brought to listeners about the needs of our veterans, military and their families - a reminder that as AMERICANS, we owe a huge debt to these men and women. The listeners of A&G have certainly taken that to heart. JOE and JACK were the catalysts for this important donation, but it was their listeners who made it happen. To all of you, on behalf of the thousands of lives you will touch, I say thank you.”
Added JOE GETTY: “Military families and causes are huge with our audience. But even knowing that, the generosity displayed toward FISHER HOUSE by our listeners is amazing. All we do is explain what FISHER HOUSE does for our wounded warriors and their families. That message sells itself. FISHER HOUSE is an incredible organization.
